Our process
Step One
Consultation
Identification of the key focus areas, wishes and desires: This is where we get to know you; explore your taste and how does it correlate with budget, learn what inspires you, details about your lifestyle requirements and intended timeframe. We also look at the architecture of your home to assure that the new and existing are mutually going to transition harmoniously (if applicable).
Step Two
Concept
Discovery of the big idea, an encompassing theme that speaks deeply to your vision, supported with imagery. This is where we start sharing options with you, including main materials suggestions and examples of fixture and furnishing styles. Decisions on general feel and space program are made.
Step Three
Schematic design
Production of key graphics. This is where an architectural format such as the finish, furniture and ceiling plans along with elevations of the focal areas. We develop
a preliminary furniture budget, outline specifications and initiate
a conversation with other consultants (such as millworker, electrician or plumber).
Step Four
Design development
Finalized selections and design. This is where we gather all materials, finishes, fixtures, furnishings and create cohesive and documented design per all spaces. You get to touch and feel all the selections in the form of material samples and colorful renderings which will enable you to visualize the new space, and approve the final design. Upon approval we submit the documents to the contractor for pricing.
Step Five
Documentation
Documentation and detailing - working drawings, schedules and specifications production: This is where you wait while the diligent work by all parties involved starts. After the drawing and specifications are finalized on our end, we engage vendors, request quotes, price proposals and place orders. The furniture and fixture manufacturing starts.
Step Six
Realization
Site visits, monitoring, documenting design implementation: This is phase where the design is handed off for realization. Expect the things to go right and trust us to fix it when they don’t. Complex process of implementation and installation has many moving parts and solutions to get vision successfully accomplished.
